People record their own voices into these hearts, so this page will almost never matter. It exists because we host what people upload, and anyone who does that should say plainly how to reach them.

The law asks a notice to include six things, and we will act faster if yours has them: what work you are talking about; where it is on our service, closely enough that we can find it; how to reach you; a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by you, your agent, or the law; a statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and that under penalty of perjury you are authorised to act for the owner; and your signature, which can be typed.

We will take down or block anything we remove and tell the person who uploaded it, so that they can answer if they believe we got it wrong.

If we took down something that was yours to share

Send a counter-notice to the same address, with the material we removed and where it was, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification, your name, address and phone number, and your agreement to accept service in the federal court for your district, or for the Northern District of California if you are outside the United States.

If we get one, we pass it to whoever sent the original notice. Unless they file a court action, we may put the material back between ten and fourteen business days later.

People who do this repeatedly

If someone uses our service to infringe copyright more than once, we close their account and they do not get another one. We also keep the record of why.

Please do not misuse this

Section 512(f) makes it unlawful to knowingly misrepresent that something is infringing, and a person who does it can be made to pay the costs it caused. A recording of a voice in a heart is usually the most personal thing a family has. We will read every notice carefully, and we will not remove someone’s voice on a notice that is plainly wrong.
